On this episode of The Record Machine Show, James Michael Hollenstein sits down with award-winning and chart-topping singer-songwriter Michael Botte to talk about his musical journey, songwriting, the formation of the Michael Botte Band, and the personal experiences that continue to shape his music.
Born and raised in a small steel town along the Ohio River outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and now residing near Philadelphia, Michael’s musical path has taken him from early attempts at putting together a band in Oakland, California, to forming the Michael Botte Band in Philadelphia in 2020 during the COVID-19 quarantine. During a time of uncertainty, Michael turned to creativity and began recording songs he had written anywhere from 20 years earlier to just 20 days before.
