Born on a United States Air Force base in Wiesbaden Germany and raised in the mountains of Virginia, Duane carries the sound of Appalachia and the soul of a working musician who has lived every story he sings.

His journey began early. At five years old he stepped onstage with his father at a local fair and performed the song Kowliga. The crowd reaction sparked something in him that never faded. By seven he was playing guitar. By nine he had his own instrument. At thirteen he was writing songs. By sixteen he was performing across the South in bars, clubs, festivals, VFW halls, and anywhere that would open the door.
